About the PAC

Sysco Corporation Good Government Committee, Inc. (“Sysco PAC”) is a multicandidate committee, made up of eligible Sysco associates who become members to help advance our collective interests before public officials at the local, state, and federal levels of government.

Sysco PAC is strictly non-partisan and allows employees to:

  • Promote a healthy legislative environment for our business;
  • Learn about and support elected officials who understand the challenges facing our industry;
  • Find out more about the issues, policy decisions, news, and events that impact Sysco PAC; and
  • Get more involved in the political process across the United States.

Frequently Asked Questions

As Sysco associates, our ability to impact government policies that affect our company and the broader foodservice distribution industry is directly dependent upon our willingness to engage in the political process. We have the opportunity, the right and the privilege to help elect candidates to local, state and federal government who make the laws governing how we live and work. In our democracy, there is an important role for each of us as active, concerned citizens. Sysco PAC gives us a way to express our collective political voice by gathering voluntary contributions from eligible employees and contributing to candidates campaigning for seats at all levels of government who understand our industry and the specific concerns of Sysco and our employees.

Under federal election law, corporations are not allowed to contribute to federal legislative candidates. However, companies can establish Political Action Committees (PACs) to solicit voluntary employee contributions, which are then used to support candidates running for office. PACs are legal, ethical, transparent and purely voluntary.

As a member of Sysco PAC, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to advance our collective interests across the nation. Every dollar you invest will be used to support candidates who will listen to our views on important issues such as transportation, food safety, job creation, workforce development, taxes and trade. Sysco PAC is the only way we can collectively contribute to the campaigns of individuals who will cast important votes on legislation and provide the necessary oversight of regulations that impact Sysco’s operations.

Sysco PAC is run by a separate Board of Directors comprised of PAC members from across our company, including representatives from executive leadership, operating companies, corporate functions and specialty companies. The Board meets regularly to approve contributions based on the candidate’s history on foodservice distribution issues and, most importantly, their willingness to work with us on issues important to our company. The guidelines for contributing are merely suggestions. You may contribute more or less than the guidelines suggest or nothing at all and you will not be favored or disadvantaged by reason of the amount of your contribution or your decision not to contribute.

Any eligible Sysco employee who holds a position at the Manager level at Corporate/SBS or the Director level in the field above can join Sysco PAC. This includes individuals who hold a valid Green Card admitting them for permanent residence in the U.S. Join Sysco PAC today to become part of one of the most successful political action teams in the foodservice distribution industry!

Be on the lookout for member-only communications including newsletters, PAC receptions, invitations to meet with elected officials, and more!
